Off to Tokyo

Well that's Nagoya done. Was it worth stopping by? Really there's not a lot to see or do. The lack of other tourists around was obvious and spending a Sunday there when there was a local festival on helped but really we spent the afternoon of our arrival visiting Nagoya Castle and the Science museum and that wad pretty much it.

The lack of masses of tourist probably contributes to the fact that there isn't as much infrastructure to accommodate visitors. The number of times I've had to lug my luggage up and down stairs in subway stations isn't funny.

But we are now on the Shinkansen Nozomi again headed to Tokyo. About 350kms in 1 hour and 40 minutes. By my calculation that's edging up to an average speed of 200kmh. Factored in two stops along the way and the top speed must be pretty impressive.

We will be in a hotel the Shinjuku area. That should be interesting.

Day 4 Shinkansen Nozomi to Nagoya

On our way to Nagoya on the Shinkansen Nozomi. The fastest train in the Japanese train network. Our as they call it the super high speed train. 133km in 37 minutes.
The ride itself is super smooth a little like gliding along the track. And the cabin is pretty cool too, lots of leg room. All for ¥5800 per person for a reserved seat.
Can't wait for our next ride tomorrow which will be longer.  Nagoya to Tokyo.
